Adam Bradley Ellis

Our beautiful baby boy was born to us on Friday December 2nd around 6:30 PM. He came to us at a whopping 9 lbs 2 oz and 21 inches long! He is so cute and we love him so much!
A few hours before labor started, we took a video. It is a really cool birds eye view of Adam moving all around. I can't figure out how to get the video on here, but as soon as I can I will add it!
Labor started for me around 1:30 that morning. We went to the hospital at 3:30 and had an epidural put in pretty quickly. I called my mom and dad and had them come down to support and love on me.

We waited for the contractions to do their thing. Around 4:00 in the afternoon they had me pushing. I know you don't want all the details (and if you do you can call me, I am happy to tell my story) so I will just break it down. I pushed for about an hour and a half to 2 hours. Then I begged the Dr to just give me a C-Section.
Honestly I knew all along I would need a C-Section. I prayed with my parents and husband and we all felt like that is what we needed to do.
The surgery only took about 20 minutes and Tyson got to watch (if you want his details he is also happy to share his story). They gave me my baby for about 20 minutes and then rushed him off to be tested and cleaned.
Adam was in the NICU for a few days. Being a big baby, me having pushed for so long and I also had a fever when I delivered... well that made for a baby with blood sugar issues. They had him on an IV until things evened out and then they let me have him.
We had lots of visitors during and after Adam was in the NICU. We appreciate all the people who came to see us. Especially our parents.
My mom and dad were able to come down every day and see the baby. There are only a few people allowed in the NICU and they were glad to be on the list. I was so glad to have them because I couldn't be with my baby all the time, and having them there really helped me feel loved and taken care of.

Tyson's mom was also able to come each day and see us. She was there to hold little Adam and give him some good long cuddles. She also sat with me while Tyson had to run some errands and that really helped to keep me going while I was stuck in that dang bed.
We now have Adam home with us and we are sooooo happy! There have been some fits of crying (by both mom and baby) but mostly just a lot of love. He is healthy and I am recovering so we are a happy little unit.

That's our story for now! I am sure this blog will fill up with baby pictures and stories soon enough!

Nursery Update

As we wait for the baby to come we keep putting in those finishing touches to the nursery! There are a few more parts for Tyson to paint and finish up, but my due date is in 4 days! Thought I would post some pictures.

More of October 2011

Things are crazy around here with getting ready for a baby and all, but they have been really fun! We have had all sorts of parties and fun!

One un-fun part of the month was that I had to go to the hospital. I was having some heart issues and we had to have a bunch of tests run. The baby is fine as am I, and my parents got me a fun prize to help me feel better! Here is a picture of Horton and me at the hospital.
The next day my mom and sister-in-law, Nikki, threw an awesome baby shower for me! We were so busy having fun we didn't take any pictures! Other than this picture of all the food we had! Everything was in a Seuss theme and it was super duper cute! I loved it!
Big thanks to my mom and Nikki for throwing the shower, and another thanks to all those that came! This baby boy has what he needs now!

We had Tyson's little sister, Natalie, and her husband, Levi, move in with us for a few weeks. It was so much fun to have them over! It was even more fun because Natalie was pregnant and she and I could sit and chat about all the uncomfortable things. For anyone who has been pregnant you understand how nice it is to have someone to sit and chat with.

Well two days before they moved out she had her baby! Garrette James was born and he is so cute! Tyson and I were able to see him in the hospital.
Seeing the baby makes me want mine to come! AHHH!

Then it was pumpkin carving time! We had our friends, Jared and Liz, over to have a pumpkin carving party. Course I had to cover the kitchen in garbage bags because Tyson always goes a little crazy.

That next night Tyson wanted to carve another one. So we bought another and he stayed up until about 2 in the morning carving it. I don't have any pictures of his process because I was sleeping but this is his finished product.
Then! The next day we carved again! This time it was a Crown family get together. We all had a good time.
Lucas still doesn't like getting dirty, but he was proud of his (or Nikki's) finished pumpkin.
We threw a Halloween party at our house this year. We had some pretty awesome decorations and great food! The pictures don't do it justice but you can get an idea.
We got dressed up.
And so did our guests!
It was a really fun party!
Well that sums up the end of October. Now we are in November and I can't wait until these updates come up! Hopefully we have a baby update soon!
